A General and Comprehensive Depression Test

Depression tests are of two types; first is a general test to detect the presence of depression, and the second is to determine the causes and types. While the presence of clinical depression may seem obvious, that is not always the case. A general test will tell if clinical depression is present or if our feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and emptiness are reflecting negative events, as they should. There is a difference between sadness over a sad event or series of events, and feelings of sadness, emptiness for no apparent reason at all, which is clinical depression. Our normal emotional process is to absorb traumatic events and loss, and feel them, and at some point, look past them and move on. These time scales range from several months to several years. When our feelings of emptiness, hopelessness, sadness, and lack of direction remain for too long, without evidence of change of perspective, that is unhealthy and we must look at it. This series of depression tests are also relevant as relationship quizzes because it helps us to see who we are as unique individuals. The more we see our God given uniqueness, the more we can see our commonality with certain others. We can decide if a relationship should be pursued or terminated. Seeing our highest good within will help us to attract others to us who are Nurturers, instead of parasitic Losers and Abusers. We can see how to heal a damaged relationship as well, after considering all the statements in the test. The first part of the test is to ask some general questions of ourselves to establish a benchmark as to the discomfort level we have. The fact we are seeking a test indicates there is emotional pain and suffering: That in and of itself is reason enough to seek help, regardless of the cause. General Depression Test The following is a general depression test, with statements that can be measured between zero and five. Zero would be a perfect score, and fifty would indicate strong depression. This test will not get into the causes or types, but will indicate need for comfort, counseling, medication and other relief. General Depression Test
